The Greater Toledo Train and Toy Show was launched on 8 March 1998. This year marks the 21st annual celebration of trains, toys, and all collectibles!
This popular Toledo event is always held the 2nd Sunday of March. This show features a nice blend of vintage toys, tons of operating exhibits, new and old technology, a dash of the "maker movement", combined with the hobby of model railroading -
This show is sure to have something for everyone!
Our goal is to provide lasting enjoyment for boys and girls, young and old! With a combination of old-time collectors and a fresh supply of youthful enthusiasm, this show was made to help the simple joys of the past find a place in future generations.
This one-day exhibition and convention not only features model trains, such as Lionel, HO, O gauge and more, but also a wide variety of vintage toys, die cast, action figures, LEGOS and more!
The man with the plan
Randy (aka Roger, or even "Roundhouse Randy"!) has been an avid collector of postwar Lionel trains since he was a boy, and his grandfather introduced him to a passion that has continued to this day (something he tries to pass on to his own grandson, Sean, who is known to be hopping around the event as well...!)
Roger is an esteemed and respeced member of the train and toy community throughout the tristate area, serving for the TCA; TTOS, LCCA, AC Gilbert Heritage Society, Swanton Model Railroad Club. He is best known for his superb repair abilities, and dictionary like abilities for identifying rare and unique models of trains and collectible toys alike.
Lisa Simon-Ramsey, (aka "Roger's wife") is the pillar behind the show - if you've emailed or called us, chances are you've talked to her! Lisa takes care of all the logtistics of the show, from advertising to schematics to volunteer coordination, and is the overall manager of the event. If Roger is the "What" of the show, then Lisa is the "How"!
During the year, Lisa runs the wildly popular "Moogla's Market" online Etsy store, specializing in vintage craft and doll-making supplies, toys, and collectables. Her favorite thing in the world is flea-marketing with her husband, dog, and grandson and trying to find the latest deals.
